Smith of Earth, queen of the trees

Fertility of ground, grow of plants, feeding, hospitality, home

This couple is connected with earth and growing. Aule created the Earth and thanks to its strength can the trees grow big and strong, they affects the earth and change its shape. Together Aule and Yavanna form the look of the world.

The Earth was shaped so some places disallow growing of plants. Where the plants grow, Yavanna grows them with all love and pleasure. Various species requires various places and so as the plants are various as much is various face of Arda. Not everything can grow everywhere, various species needs various spaces, which Aule grants with shape of the world. Fertile ground, which is mix of dead plant parts and minerals is their combined work and is necessary for many plants and not just for them. The roots of trees grow deep into the ground, which holds them so they can resist strong winds and rains and rather profit from them. Roots can grow into rocks and destroy them, changing the shape of them. But before this happens, the rock is long time protected by them from lightening and other influences and can be active on place filled with life.

Maybe their love isn’t much visible in their work, but there is a lot of it between them and in truth they combine their arts a lot. Among other they create wine and other intoxicants together (sometimes with help of Este) and holds great feasts, which they enjoy as much as their guests. Both appreciate good food, which is plenty on their celebrations. When they are together alone, they create unusual things unknown to the world and very rarely they show them to anyone. Mysterious cave plants, magical objects, even very simple ones and yet hidden to everyone.

Together they remind us, that everyone need to have home and they offer it to all and allow everyone to find a place, own home and live there independently. It is not necessary for them to have very loud happiness in home, but contentment never leaves their halls.

They also remind us, that everyone has secrets and has right to keep them so, until it is decided otherwise. If someone happens to see them without permission, it is better to keep them unshared. Everyone has right to have privacy, where he can be himself, place, where are his own rules and the contentment is created his own way.
