Seal of the Valar

Seal of the Valar

Valar use symbols rarely, some of them almost not at all. Therefore the seal of the Valar was difficult to create. With support of the Valar symbols identifying each vala were created in order to help with communication with the Valar.

Base of the Seal is seven-pointed star, strongly connected with the elves and realms they inhabit. Around the star there are 21 symbols, Valar are 15, but none has symbol at the point of the star. On the points there are symbols of Valar couples, plus one for Ulmo and Nienna.

Seal itself is the gate of Valinor and also can be used as symbol of Mahaxanar, the judging court and circle of the Valar.

Just for curiosity:

1 symbol for all Valar, 1 is number of unity and oneness

21 symbols for the Valar plus seal itself gives 22 symbols, which is also number of tarot cards in great Arcanum.

21 gives 3x7, 3 is magical number, sometimes also symbolizing body, mind and soul, 7 is number of good fortune

14 Valar gives 2x7, 2 is number of duality, for example physical and spiritual world

15 Valar gives 3x5, 5 is number of elements known in magic
