Who are the elves?

It is very difficult to describe the humus in their variety. With elves it is even harder.

In this variety there is still something all elves have in common – the individuality. It is kin and society of individuals. It is natural for elves to group in groups with similar way or goals. That leads to untold variety of their society.

Even thought there is this variety, all elves are still family. That is how they see each other and the other ones as well. The birch is member of birch family, oaks are family, even humans. They do not know kin and categories as we do. They do know families.

This individuality of their people has also spiritual affects, but because all elves are family, they do not hate elves of different believes. For them it is more important to live in harmony and to honor live and order, than what spiritual journey each of them follows.

Maybe this is the reason, why young elves are almost never or never taught about spiritual ways from their parents. It is their own task to find their own ways, to follow their hearts as well as finding the way of life, which will suit them the best.

No extreme or combination should be denounced, if they do not cause harm. Even on Earth it is possible to learn about the variety of the elves. For example I here give you some of elven societies, which present themselves on internet, but the reality is only touched here.

Group with their own social web, lead by the clan Tuatha de Dannan, the children of goodness Danu. Tuatha have their own pantheon of gods and goddesses, which they share a lot with Irish tradition. (I hope I write it correct)

I do not mention elves of Sosaria, because they are role-players, who do not take it so seriously, although they created good calendar. (sadly enough they also ended their web)

One theory says that the elves share the ancestors with the trees, they are close related. Some elves are fascinated by the stars, maybe because they are aware on some level, that from the bodies of the stars, which died eons ago, are created not just more stars, but also planets and everything that inhabits them. So when elves calim to be the children of the stars, they are in fact right, because their bodies are also created from the bodies of the stars, which died to allow creation of all this. Maybe that is the reason for their connection with the stars on the night sky.

Wherever the truth is, the affection to the stars and even more to the nature seem sto be very essential.

In fact, I try to note, that to categorize the elves is almost impossible and it doesn’t even fit to the mind of the elves. Humans need strict categories, elves sometimes too, but they rather use their own, less strict, not so strictly defined. The only way to understand the elven kin is to accept them as they are in their variety and to not be shocked by anything. This illusional chaos is in truth only different order, that the humans know. And it works as well.

What it means to be elf? Wrong question. Elf would rather ask; what it means to be me? If you feel to be an elf, that it is nature of your soul and the body cannot change it. If you want to remain elf, remain so, even this is the gift of freedom. The human incarnation is not making us people instantly. (although it can be way to become it, if the soul wants it)

The role of Tolkiens work is very interesting in the life of elves. The Middlearth seems to work as a alarm clock, when they come there, they realize, who they are. They begin to live there, but many as they go deeper in understanding themselves, they go further, into the harbor get on the ship ans leave, led by another gods, their very own and they are going home, to the lands of their own people. Middlearth is so serving as milestone on the spiritual way, which is noble task, because I do not know of any other work, that would be so spontaneous awakening (well it isn’t so random even here, nothing is just by accident) for the elves. (and other races as well)

And whatever your way is, if it leads you to the harmony and honoring of life, may it be blessed.

Oh, yes. One more thing, which I realized, when I was seeking for the elven web pages. How the elves look like? Which of the races, that we describe as the elves, is true elven race? The answer is simple. Do not seek any answer. Elf is a word and as so it is name of race, you call elven with love and respect. That’s it. Who claims that elves cannot look like Orlando Bloom in blonde wig, or see it to be offensive when someone calls small beings helping Santa elves, they do mistake. I do not judge them, I just clearly say, that to force others to see things our way is dishonoring of their freedom. Personally I saw only elves looking like coming from the Lord of the Rings films, but I have no doubt that even other races claimed to be elven exist as well. I would never call them so, but I had to learn too, that if someone calls them so, it is between them only. We, who do not agree have no right to argue about their relationships with these races anyway.
